Gwangho, a promising pitcher on his high school baseball team, had long dreamed of chasing his professional baseball dreams. However, when he failed to get drafted, his passion for the sport clashed with the harsh reality of rejection, creating a rift between him and his teammates. The once-close camaraderie that thrived on shared practice sessions and locker room banter gradually frayed as Gwangho struggled to reconcile his unmet aspirations with the daily grind of team life. His teammates, eager to move forward, felt his lingering disappointment was holding them back, and Gwangho, in turn, resented their inability to understand his burning desire to keep playing. Desperate to find a way to stay involved in baseball—even if it meant working outside the sport—Gwangho turned to his friend Mincheol, a quick-witted but impulsive companion who shared his restlessness. Together, they stumbled into a risky venture: selling fake gasoline, a desperate attempt to earn money and fill the void left by their unfulfilled baseball dreams. "I just couldn’t watch my dreams die quietly," Gwangho later reflected in a quiet moment, his voice tinged with regret. Mincheol, meanwhile, shrugged off the danger with a nervous laugh: "If we’re gonna go down, at least we’ll go down swinging… or, y’know, selling dodgy fuel." Their partnership, born from youthful frustration and a fleeting hope of financial stability, became a dangerous escape from the crushing weight of unmet expectations—a choice that would test the limits of their friendship and their moral compasses.
