剧情简介
Doug is an awkward Florida drug addict, divorced and isolated, sharing custody of his young daughter with his ex-wife. Struggling to cope after losing his job at a local strip club—where he maintained the aquarium fish—his life feels irredeemably bleak. In a desperate bid to escape his reality, he steers his boat into the Gulf, seeking oblivion. Yet, at his lowest ebb, Doug stumbles upon something unexpected: an injured mermaid creature, her scales glistening despite the crimson of her wounds, half-submerged in the churning waters. The discovery shatters his numbness, leaving him adrift between despair and an unforeseen, fragile hope.
